Growing up in Portland, Oregon, Bob took a wealth of construction knowledge from Benson Polytechnic High School with him when he entered the US Coast Guard. There he added to his skills, while inspecting construction projects on numerous assignments around the world. After retiring from the Coast Guard, Bob became a field supervisor for a regional home builder. As he built relationships with the home owners, he was frequently asked where they could find a company that specialized in handyman projects. Taking this as his cue, Bob moved away from new construction and launched Oregon’s Home Handyman, LLC in 1997.

 In January of 2008, Bob filled in for the regular host on the home improvement radio show, Around the House, and now the rest is history. Every Saturday from Noon to 2:00, on NewsRadio 750 KXL and the Radio Northwest Network, consisting of 18 affiliate radio stations, he takes calls on air from homeowners throughout Oregon and Washington seeking advice on maintenance, repair, remodeling and renovation of their home. Handyman Bob has become a trusted source of information for all projects “Around the House”.

In February, 2010, Bob had a vision of a portal into the web where people could come for information on any subject having to do with their home. He carefully selected a webmaster to help him make this vision a reality. They began laying it out in March and slowly added elements to it that would provide meaningful content as well as attract visitors. By July, it was live on the web and at month's end had attracted 2300 visits. August and September each saw an increase of 1,000 visits. In October, visits increased exponentially, reaching just slightly less than 69,000. Bob's vision had become a reality.
